Ms. Nur Khasanah, a graduate of the Master’s Program in Mathematics at the Faculty of Science and Mathematics (FSM), Diponegoro University, class of 2014, completed her studies in 2017 and began her career by dedicating herself as a civil servant and lecturer at UIN Walisongo Semarang.
During her time at FSM UNDIP, Ms. Nur not only deepened her understanding of mathematics but also gained essential soft skills that have played a significant role in her career. After graduation, she had the opportunity to apply her knowledge in a more practical academic setting. She continued to broaden her perspective through various experiences, including participating in the fully funded SEAMS School program in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, in 2023. This program opened doors for Ms. Nur to make broader contributions to international research and to build research collaboration networks that bring tangible benefits to her institution and alma mater.
While studying at FSM UNDIP, Ms. Nur also actively built connections with various institutions and agencies, which led to her receiving the LPDP Thesis and Dissertation Research Grant from the Ministry of Finance. Being part of the first cohort of the Master’s in Mathematics program at FSM UNDIP served as strong motivation for her to continue achieving and to gain recognition from other state institutions, such as when she successfully passed the national civil servant selection process (ASN). She emphasizes that her time at FSM UNDIP was not solely focused on learning mathematics but also on gaining essential training in writing scientific articles, presenting at international conferences, and building research connections that now strongly support her professional career.
She reminds FSM UNDIP students not to focus solely on academic material but also to develop soft skills such as proficiency in software tools, foreign languages, communication, teamwork, and collaboration—all of which are highly valuable in the professional world.
