Suhendra Gunawan Ntoy, a graduate of the Medical Physicist Professional Education Program at FSM UNDIP, class of 2023, is currently working as a medical physicist at the Radiation Oncology Unit of RSUD Raden Mattaher, Jambi. After completing his professional education in 2024, he immediately accepted an offer to join the hospital, coinciding with the opening of the province’s first radiotherapy facility. This opportunity marked a crucial first step, not only in his career development but also as a meaningful contribution to oncology healthcare services in the region. His enthusiasm is high as he continues to deepen his understanding of the clinical application of medical physics.

During his studies, Suhendra graduated cum laude and was named best graduate of the Medical Physicist Professional Program. He also received specialized training from Mr. Soac in 3D brachytherapy techniques using the remote afterloading system—an invaluable experience that further enhanced his professional competence.

The knowledge and hands-on experience he gained during his time at FSM UNDIP have been essential in supporting his career journey. The professional program provided a strong foundation through practical activities, including daily and monthly quality control testing of linear accelerators (Linacs), CT simulators, and the use of Treatment Planning Systems (TPS) for patient therapy planning.

To current FSM UNDIP students, especially those enrolled in the Medical Physicist Professional Program, he shares this message: continually strengthen your core competencies as a medical physicist and continue to develop them. The responsibility of a medical physicist is significant, especially in ensuring that the radiation dose delivered to patients is both safe and effective. A strong commitment to quality and patient safety is the cornerstone of this profession.
