On Thursday, December 4, 2025, the Faculty of Science and Mathematics of Universitas Diponegoro (FSM UNDIP) welcomed a benchmarking visit from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Universitas Lampung (FMIPA UNILA). The visit took place in the Meeting Room on the 4th floor of the Acintya Prasada Building at FSM UNDIP and was attended by seven delegates from FMIPA UNILA.
The event began with a warm welcome from the Dean of FSM UNDIP, Prof. Dr. Kusworo Adi, S.Si., M.T., who introduced the leadership and study programs at FSM UNDIP. In his speech, he also expressed hope that this visit would strengthen the ties between the two faculties and open opportunities for sharing experiences and knowledge in managing the faculty and student activities.
Next, the speech was delivered by Dr. Junaidi, S.Si., M.Sc., Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni of FMIPA UNILA, who shared the purpose of the benchmarking visit, which was to learn about student affairs management and medical physics, with a focus on fostering student achievements and managing student organizations (Ormawa) within the faculty. Dr. Junaidi hoped that the discussion would provide insights into how to improve student activities at FMIPA UNILA.
The fruitful discussion also included an explanation from Dr. Ngadiwiyana, S.Si., M.Si., Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs of FSM UNDIP, who shared information on various student achievements at FSM UNDIP, both at the university and national levels. He emphasized the importance of creating an academic environment that supports student success, involving faculty members and leadership in mentoring high-achieving students.
On this occasion, Arif Surtono, S.Si., M.Si., M.Eng., Head of the Physics Department at UNILA, expressed hope to to strengthen interest in medical physics towards the desire to open a professional study program for medical physics at UNILA with support from FSM UNDIP. In response, Prof. Dr. Heri Sutanto, S.Si., M.Si., F.Med., Head of the Physics Department at FSM UNDIP, offered advice on the steps that can be taken to ensure the success of the program, as well as the importance of preparing appropriate courses and faculty to support the development of the medical physics program.
This visit provided a valuable opportunity for both faculties to exchange ideas and experiences, strengthening the collaboration between them, and fostering continued progress in the development of education at each institution. FSM UNDIP hopes that this visit will provide significant benefits for FMIPA UNILA in their efforts to develop their faculty and student affairs moving forward.
