The Faculty of Science and Mathematics (FSM), Diponegoro University (UNDIP) receives the visit of MTs Sains Al Anwar, Rembang Regency, to took place on Wednesday, 10 December 2025. This laboratory-themed activity focused on introducing the Basic Physics, Basic Chemistry, and Basic Biology Laboratories of FSM UNDIP as early science learning facilities for students. The group of students and teachers first attended a welcoming session in the meeting room on the 4th floor of the Acintya Prasada Building, FSM UNDIP, before continuing with the laboratory visit agenda.

The event began with welcoming remarks from the Dean of FSM UNDIP, Prof. Dr. Kusworo Adi, S.Si., M.T. In his address, he welcomed the entire delegation of MTs Sains Al Anwar Rembang and expressed his hope that the visit to FSM UNDIP’s laboratories would inspire students to love science, nurture their curiosity, and train them to think critically about phenomena around them. He also emphasized the importance of direct learning experiences in a university environment as an initial provision for students to get to know campus life and the various study opportunities available in the future.
On behalf of the school, the Principal or representative of MTs Sains Al Anwar Rembang conveyed appreciation and gratitude for the opportunity provided by FSM UNDIP. In his remarks, he stated that this visit is expected to become a valuable learning experience for the students, broadening their knowledge of modern scientific practice, and motivating them to continue studying diligently so that they may grow into knowledgeable, virtuous individuals who bring benefits to their families, communities, and the nation.

After the welcoming session, the students were taken on a tour to visit the Basic Chemistry, Basic Biology, and Basic Physics Laboratories in sequence. In each laboratory, the head of the laboratory together with accompanying lecturers introduced the facilities, explained the functions of basic equipment, and gave a brief overview of the types of practical activities usually carried out by university students. The students also had the opportunity to observe the working atmosphere in the laboratories and ask questions related to the application of scientific concepts they learn in class. The interaction between the students and the resource persons took place in a warm atmosphere, creating an enjoyable learning experience and encouraging the students to feel closer to the world of science..

Through this visit, FSM UNDIP hopes to play a role in fostering early interest and enthusiasm for science among MTs students, as well as strengthening partnerships between universities and secondary education institutions in Central Java. The hands-on experience in the laboratories is expected to become an initial step for students to continue exploring the world of science and, in the future, return to campus as university students ready to learn, create, and achieve.
