FSM UNDIP Welcomes Study Visit from SMAN 1 Rembang Purbalingga, Providing Insights and Motivation for Higher Education

The Faculty of Science and Mathematics (FSM) at Diponegoro University (UNDIP) welcomed a study visit from State Senior High School (SMAN) 1 Rembang Purbalingga on Friday, April 17, 2026. The activity, held at the 6th Floor of Acintya Prasada Building, FSM UNDIP, was attended by students and teachers as part of their preparation for pursuing higher education.

The event began with a speech from the Principal of SMAN 1 Rembang Purbalingga, Dr. Sigit Mangun Wardoyo, S.Pd., M.Pd. In his remarks, he stated that the purpose of this visit was to strengthen relationships while providing meaningful learning experiences for the students. He expressed hope that through this activity, students would gain valuable information and motivation to become a capable and future-ready generation.

The next speech was delivered by the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs of FSM UNDIP, Prof. Dr. Ngadiwiyana, S.Si., M.Si. He emphasized that FSM UNDIP is very open to welcoming prospective students from various regions, including Purbalingga. He also mentioned that many current FSM UNDIP students come from the same area. FSM UNDIP currently offers seven undergraduate programs with excellent accreditation, three of which have also received international accreditation. On this occasion, he highlighted the importance of increasing young people’s interest in science, expressing great enthusiasm in welcoming the visiting students.

The activity continued with a presentation session by Satriawan Rasyid Purnama, S.Kom., M.Cs., Coordinator of Information Technology at FSM UNDIP. The presentation focused on the Faculty of Science and Mathematics, particularly its seven undergraduate programs: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Statistics, Informatics, and Biotechnology. He also explained the strengths of each program, opportunities for student competency development, and career prospects for graduates in various fields.

In addition, participants were introduced to the UNDIP campus environment located in Tembalang, which offers comprehensive facilities, as well as various student activities that support both academic and non-academic development. This was expected to give students a clearer picture of university life at UNDIP.

The students showed great enthusiasm during the interactive Q&A session, actively asking questions about study programs, admission pathways, and career opportunities after graduating from FSM UNDIP.

Through this visit, it is hoped that students of SMAN 1 Rembang Purbalingga will be more motivated to pursue higher education, especially in the fields of science and mathematics, and gain a clearer understanding in choosing their future study paths.
