The Community Service Program (KKN) in Jagan Village, Bendosari District, Sukoharjo Regency, Central Java Province by Eka Auliya Syifa who is a KKN student from the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Diponegoro University this time presents innovations in mathematics learning at the Elementary School (SD) level. Through the theme “Math Module: How to Quickly Calculate Mathematics as a Learning Media with the Concept of Mathematical Logic,” this program has been successfully implemented at SD Negeri 2 Jagan on Tuesday (23/7/2024).
Students often face difficulties in calculating large numbers, which causes them to struggle and lose interest in math. “Counting big numbers often makes me confused and often wrong,” said one student. This difficulty is also felt by teachers trying to help students understand more complex math concepts. “Teaching math concepts with large numbers is very challenging. I often struggle to find the right method so that students can understand it” said a math teacher at SD Negeri 2 Jagan.
This math module is designed to help students master math concepts quickly and effectively through a logical approach. Each module contains simple and practical steps to solve various math problems, accompanied by examples that facilitate understanding. “This module really helps students to understand how to count faster and increase their confidence in doing math problems,” explained one of the teachers at SD Negeri 2 Jagan.
With this math module, it is hoped that it can provide an effective solution in overcoming the challenges of learning mathematics in elementary schools and encourage more innovative and fun learning methods in the future. (Eka)
