fsm.undip.ac.id/ On Monday (29/07), the Faculty of Science and Mathematics (FSM), Diponegoro University (UNDIP), held a training event entitled “Teaching and Learning Training within the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Curriculum 2024” at the Kapuas Ballroom, Hotel Arrus Semarang. The event was attended by the Faculty Quality Assurance team and lecturer representatives from each department.
This training aimed to enhance lecturers’ understanding and skills in implementing the OBE Curriculum, which focuses on student learning outcomes. Outcome-Based Education (OBE) is an educational approach that emphasizes clear and measurable learning outcomes. Through OBE, graduates are expected to possess competencies that align with the needs of industry and society.

In this training, FSM UNDIP invited Dr. Nurzal Effiyana Binti Ghazali from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) as the keynote speaker. She is an expert in education and curriculum development with extensive experience in implementing innovative learning methods such as Student-Centered Learning (SCL) and Project-Based Learning (PJBL). Dr. Nurzal has contributed to various research projects and training programs aimed at improving the quality of higher education and is frequently invited as a speaker at international seminars and workshops. The material presented covered both theory and practice of SCL and PJBL approaches, as well as how these methods can be applied within the OBE curriculum.

The participants showed great enthusiasm during the discussion and practical sessions led by Dr. Nurzal. In addition, the training provided an opportunity for lecturers to share experiences and strategies in implementing SCL and PJBL. These discussions are expected to enrich lecturers’ insights and skills in developing a better curriculum.
It is hoped that through this training, lecturers at FSM UNDIP will be able to implement the OBE Curriculum more effectively, thereby producing competent graduates who are ready to face challenges in the professional world.
Through these continuous efforts, FSM UNDIP remains committed to improving the quality of education and producing outstanding graduates in the fields of science and mathematics.
