Mr. Mustaqim, an alumnus of the Chemistry undergraduate program at FSM UNDIP, began his career in the polymer industry in 2012. With a solid educational background in Chemistry from FSM UNDIP, he focused on research and development (R&D) activities to formulate additives for plastic packaging. His experience extends beyond the polymer sector—he also explored quality control in the food and beverage industry, further enhancing his ability to identify and implement the best solutions for rigid packaging.
Over the past six years (2018–2024), Mr. Mustaqim successfully led additive development at Dynapack Asia Group, focusing on optimizing rigid packaging applications to meet customer needs and support business growth. At the end of 2024, he made a significant career move by taking on the role of Asia Product Development Manager at the global company Holland Colours.
Throughout his journey, Mr. Mustaqim has achieved several notable accomplishments. He served as a core committee member in six consecutive annual Innovation Workshops in the Rigid Packaging sector from 2019 to 2024. In 2020, he led the development of Indonesia’s first inverted bottle project and oversaw the replacement of layers in caps and closures for a global brand owner.
In 2023, Mr. Mustaqim earned the prestigious Six Sigma Black Belt certification, a testament to his expertise in process improvement and quality management. He was also a speaker at the 2023 Quality Month Celebration organized by Dynapack Asia, delivering a talk on “The Impact of Using Recycled Materials and How to Manage It.” In addition, he successfully led the establishment of a Polymer Testing Laboratory, which received accreditation from the National Accreditation Committee (KAN) in 2024.
For him, the knowledge and experience gained during his studies in the Faculty of Science and Mathematics (Department of Chemistry) at UNDIP played a crucial role in shaping his analytical mindset, mental resilience, complex problem-solving skills, and technical expertise. These elements have been the cornerstone of his career journey to this day.
To current FSM UNDIP students, he shares this message: “Dare to take chances and strive. Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone, because every challenge is an opportunity to learn and grow.”
