Mr. Antonius Giri Martanto, a graduate of the Physics undergraduate program at the Faculty of Science and Mathematics (FSM), Diponegoro University, class of 1989, began his professional journey with a solid foundation in physics. After graduating in 1994, he quickly stepped into various key positions that demanded both technical expertise and leadership in the manufacturing and mining industries.

Mr. Antonius’s career began as Head of Electric at PT Tonikitex (1994–1995). He then pursued further studies through the SM2 program at Gadjah Mada University (1995–1998) to deepen his expertise. He returned to PT Tonikitex as Plant Production Manager (1998–2000), before joining PT Bumi Cahaya Unggul as Technical Design Manager and Deputy Manager of R&D (2001–2018). Currently, he plays a pivotal role as a Pump Expert and Hardrock Mining Engineering Manager at PT KSB Indonesia, leading technical innovation in the mining sector.

Throughout his career, he has received numerous prestigious awards and recognitions, including the Supersemar and URGE scholarships from the World Bank, ISO 9001:2000 management certification, and participation in international technical training programs in Singapore and the United States. These achievements reflect his commitment and expertise in applying physics to solve real-world industrial challenges.

Mr. Antonius emphasizes that the education he received at FSM UNDIP was instrumental in laying the foundation for his career. “Every job I’ve taken on is rooted in the physics I learned at university. FSM provided solid theoretical and practical training that enabled me to adapt and contribute meaningfully across various companies,” he said.

As a message to current FSM UNDIP students, Mr. Antonius advises: “Master foreign languages and technical skills such as CAD Drawing and Finite Element Analysis (FEA). Additionally, build strong character—be persistent, diligent, and honest. These are the keys to succeeding in today’s competitive job market.”
