After completing his studies in the Department of Mathematics at FSM UNDIP in November 2019, Mr. Fatkhur Rohim immediately began his career journey by participating in several selection processes at prominent state-owned enterprises. Just three months after graduation, in February 2020, he was successfully accepted as one of only 16 candidates nationwide into the Officer Development Program (ODP) Batch 193 at PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk. After passing through seven rigorous stages of selection, Mr. Fatkhur demonstrated perseverance and quality that propelled him up the career ladder in the banking industry.
In less than five years, Mr. Fatkhur earned the trust to serve as Branch Manager at Bank Mandiri’s Banjar Branch Office. He was also recognized as one of the top-performing officers in the South Kalimantan region. These achievements are inseparable from the knowledge and mindset he developed during his education at FSM UNDIP. According to him, studying mathematics not only enhanced his understanding of logic and numbers but also developed his critical, analytical, and innovative thinking skills, which are essential for making strategic decisions in the professional world.
Mr. Fatkhur explained that the knowledge and experience gained during his time at FSM UNDIP played a significant role in shaping his mindset and work ethic. Being a mathematics student equipped him not only with logical and numerical skills but also with the ability to think systematically, analytically, and critically—highly valuable competencies in the banking sector, which demands precision, strategy, and the ability to make swift, accurate decisions.
Mr. Fatkhur encourages FSM UNDIP students not only to focus on academic achievements but also to build networks and actively hone their practical skills. University life is just the beginning of a long learning journey—one that will be truly tested when entering the professional world.
