On May 28, 2025The Faculty of Science and Mathematics (FSM) at Diponegoro University reaffirmed its commitment to bridging academia and industry through a technical discussion with PT Len Industri (Persero). This session was part of a continuing collaboration initiative, primarily focused on human resource development and research downstreaming in the fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cybersecurity.

Held in the Meeting Room on the 4th floor of the Acintya Prasada Building at FSM UNDIP, the discussion explored in depth the potential for research collaboration and the development of strategic technologies to support the enhancement of national defense products, particularly radar systems. The PT Len delegation included key strategic program leaders: Senior General Manager of Information Systems & Lead of the AI Programme, Mr. Heru Permana, who also serves as Software Engineering Manager at LenIOT & Co-Lead of the AI Programme; Mr. Edy Afrizal, General Manager of IT Infrastructure and Operations & Lead of the Cybersecurity Programme; and Mr. Ian Agung, Co-Lead of the Cybersecurity Programme.

The discussion covered several high-level research topics in depth, including the integration of AI with multi-intelligence systems, the application of graph neural networks for intrusion detection systems in the cybersecurity domain, and the development of remote sensing technologies. Other key areas included strengthening cryptographic systems—both conventional and post-quantum—relevant to enhancing communication security in national defense infrastructures.

This coordination aligns with a broader collaboration goal of synergizing human resource potential and research capacity from both parties in the areas of education, research, and community service. The partnership also reflects principles of mutual benefit, fair competition, and goodwill as the foundation for translating academic innovation into tangible technologies for industry.

Through this forum, FSM UNDIP reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the contribution of academic research to industrial advancement, particularly within the nation’s strategic sectors. The synergy between researchers, faculty, students, and industry professionals such as those from PT Len is expected to accelerate the transformation of research outcomes into impactful, real-world technologies for the benefit of the nation.
