Mr. Romario Dion is an alumnus of the Biotechnology undergraduate program at FSM UNDIP, class of 2018, who graduated in 2022. After graduation, he began his career as a Staff member of Research and Science at PT Haldin Pacific Semesta, a company specialising in natural raw materials. For two years and six months, he was actively involved in the research and development of fermented foods—a field closely related to the Biotechnology knowledge he acquired during his studies. However, driven by a desire for growth and to explore broader professional horizons, he made a bold career move: transitioning into the banking industry. He is currently enrolled in the Officer Development Program (ODP) for Regional Business at PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk., Jakarta, a prestigious program designed to develop future leaders in Indonesia’s banking sector.

During his time at FSM UNDIP, Mr. Romario was not only an active academic but also achieved several impressive accomplishments. He earned a Gold Medal at the 2020 National Scientific Week (PIMNAS) and another Gold Medal at the World Young Inventors Exhibition in Malaysia the same year. These achievements reflect his diligence, competitiveness, and visionary mindset since his student years.

For Mr. Romario, the knowledge he gained at FSM UNDIP remains highly relevant and forms a crucial foundation for each step of his career. While working in the laboratory, his background in Biotechnology strongly supported his technical and analytical responsibilities. After shifting to the banking sector, he found that his training in Statistics—which he had studied during college—proved immensely helpful, especially in understanding data and conducting business analysis.

His message to FSM UNDIP students:
“Keep learning, wherever you are. Don’t be satisfied with just what’s taught in class. Explore your potential further, gain more experience, and expand your network. The professional world is highly dynamic, and adaptability is the key to success.”
