The Faculty of Science and Mathematics (FSM) of Diponegoro University once again held the 125th Graduation Ceremony for Master’s, Professional, and Bachelor’s Programs on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at the Prof. Soedarto, SH Building. The event was officially opened by the Chair of the FSM Senate, Prof. Dr. Dra. Tri Retnaningsih Soeprobowati, M.App.Sc, and was attended by the Dean of FSM, the Vice Deans, the Heads and Secretaries of Departments, the Heads of Study Programs, as well as managers and supervisors within FSM UNDIP. The atmosphere was solemn yet filled with pride, as this moment marked the end of the students’ academic journey before stepping into the next stage.
In this graduation ceremony, FSM UNDIP graduated 420 prospective graduates, consisting of 23 graduates from the Master’s Program, 34 graduates from the Professional Program, and 363 graduates from the Bachelor’s Program. In his report, the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Dr. Ngadiwiyana, S.Si., M.Si., stated that 283 of these graduates successfully achieved the cum laude distinction. The breakdown of graduates per study program is as follows: Master’s in Mathematics (5), Bachelor’s in Mathematics (56), Master’s in Biology (2), Bachelor’s in Biology (67), Bachelor’s in Biotechnology (26), Master’s in Chemistry (5), Bachelor’s in Chemistry (83), Master’s in Physics (11), Professional Medical Physicist (34), Bachelor’s in Physics (44), Bachelor’s in Statistics (49), and Bachelor’s in Informatics (38). All graduates have gone through their education with perseverance and full commitment, achieving various accomplishments in both academics and personal development.
In his remarks, the Dean of FSM UNDIP, Prof. Dr. Kusworo Adi, S.Si., M.Si., congratulated the graduates and reminded them to uphold the good name of their alma mater. “Whatever job you pursue, do it wholeheartedly. Do not easily become lazy or overly sensitive, and always be devoted to your parents,” he emphasized. On the same occasion, he also reminded the graduates to promptly complete the tracer study as a contribution to quality improvement and educational evaluation within Diponegoro University.
The graduation ceremony also included the awarding of Dean’s Awards to 15 graduates with the highest GPAs. One of the Dean’s Award recipients, Muhammad Irfan Hakim (Bachelor’s in Chemistry), delivered a speech representing the graduates. He expressed gratitude for the support of his parents, family, lecturers, and academic staff, and emphasized that studying at FSM UNDIP had shaped his character and collaborative abilities.
UNDIP’s 179th Graduation Ceremony: FSM Graduates Stepping into the Professional World
The next day, Wednesday, July 30, 2025, FSM UNDIP celebrated the success of 419 graduates at the UNDIP 179th Graduation Ceremony at the Muladi Dome Convention Center. Of these, 283 achieved the cum laude predicate, reflecting a success rate of 67%. In her speech representing the graduates, Hana Sabita from S1 Biotechnology expressed heartfelt thanks to the rector, dean, lecturers, and educational staff for their guidance throughout their academic journey.
Hana also extended deep appreciation to her parents, family, and friends who had provided full support, and apologized for any mistakes made during their academic years. On this occasion, she reminded the graduates to remain humble, uphold integrity, and contribute positively to society.
The Rector of UNDIP, in his address, emphasized the importance of analytical thinking, resilience, and creativity in facing challenges in the digital era. He also reminded the graduates to continuously adapt to changes and not be afraid to learn new things in order to achieve success in the professional world.
Thus, these two events marked a significant moment for FSM UNDIP, solidifying the faculty’s role in producing graduates ready to face global challenges and contribute to various fields. Congratulations to all graduates, may the knowledge they have gained benefit the nation and society at large.
