Semarang, October 3, 2025 — The Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science and Mathematics (FSM), Diponegoro University held a “Manuscript Mentoring” program as part of the International Postdoctoral Program series. The activity ran from September 29 to October 3, 2025 on the 2nd floor of the Acintya Prasada Building, FSM, every day from 13:00 to 14:30 WIB, featuring Dr. Enis Nadia binti Md Yusof, Ph.D. (Chemical Science Program, School of Distance Education, Universiti Sains Malaysia) as the lead mentor.
Over five days, students brought their own research manuscripts for direct guidance. The mentoring sessions focused on strengthening the structure of scientific writing, aligning with international academic style, building arguments and logical flow, and developing strategies for selecting journals that match each study’s scope and results. Discussions were highly interactive—participants presented drafts, received targeted feedback, and then revised their manuscripts to meet global publication standards. At the close of each session, Dr. Enis emphasized the importance of consistent citation, adherence to publication ethics, and clarity of scientific contribution.
Vinta Syaputri, an undergraduate Chemistry student at Undip, shared a positive impression of the program: “This activity was very beneficial, especially for me as I’m just learning to publish. I now feel more prepared to submit my research to international venues,” she said.
The “Manuscript Mentoring” program is a strategic step by the Undip FSM Department of Chemistry to build a productive, globally competitive academic ecosystem. Through intensive guidance from international experts, students are expected to produce manuscripts that not only meet the standards of reputable journals, but also make concrete contributions to scientific progress and real-world problem-solving.
