Harmony Cita Scholarship: An Initiative of Kesma BEM FSM to Strengthen Student Welfare

Semarang, 29 November 2025 – The Student Welfare Division (Kesma) of the Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Science and Mathematics (FSM), Universitas Diponegoro held the handover ceremony of the Harmony Cita Scholarship for the Even Semester as a form of concern for student welfare. This program represents one of the concrete initiatives of Kesma BEM FSM in providing additional support for students in need, while at the same time strengthening the culture of solidarity within FSM.

The Harmony Cita Scholarship handover event for the Even Semester was held in Room E101, FSM UNDIP as the implementation of the 2025 work program of the Student Welfare Division (Kesma) BEM FSM. From the outset, this scholarship program was designed, initiated, and managed by Kesma BEM FSM through a fundraising process involving various parties, ranging from students to donors who wish to contribute to the continuity of education at FSM. The entire process was collected and monitored internally by the Kesma BEM FSM team to ensure that the distribution of assistance runs in an orderly manner and in line with the objectives of the program.

The Dean of FSM also attended the event as a form of the faculty’s support for the initiatives and efforts of Kesma BEM FSM in organizing the Harmony Cita Scholarship program. The presence of the faculty leadership at this handover moment also serves as an appreciation for the spirit of mutual support and social awareness fostered by BEM together with the students.

Through an internal selection process conducted by Kesma BEM FSM, 10 students were chosen as awardees of the Harmony Cita Scholarship for the Even Semester. The scholarship recipients come from various study programs within FSM and were considered eligible to receive support based on criteria set by Kesma BEM FSM. During the handover event, the awardees also received an explanation regarding the technical procedures for disbursement and the utilization of the assistance as part of a shared commitment to uphold the integrity of the program.

The Harmony Cita Scholarship program is expected to help ease the burden currently faced by the awardees, while also providing moral encouragement so that they can remain focused on their studies and continue to excel. For Kesma BEM FSM, the implementation of this program demonstrates that initiatives originating from students can grow into a movement that delivers real impact for their peers.

Going forward, Kesma BEM FSM aims for programs such as the Harmony Cita Scholarship to continue and be further developed, both in terms of the number of beneficiaries and the forms of support provided. With synergy between BEM, students, and donors, the FSM environment is expected to become increasingly warm, inclusive, and supportive for all students pursuing their education.
