Informatics Students of FSM UNDIP Participate in Classes and an Idea Competition at Universiti Malaysia Sabah

The Faculty of Science and Mathematics (FSM), Diponegoro University (UNDIP), through the Department of Informatics, successfully implemented the Student Mobility Program for the 2025/2026 academic year at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS). The program was conducted over a three-month period, from October to December 2025, as part of FSM UNDIP’s ongoing efforts to promote the internationalization of education and strengthen students’ global competencies.

During this period, five students from the Informatics Study Program, Faculty of Science and Mathematics (FSM), Universitas Diponegoro, were selected to participate in academic and cultural activities directly at Universiti Malaysia Sabah. The selected students were Keisya Intan Nabila (24060122130063), Qun Alfadrian Setyowahyu Putro (24060122130072), Rachmad Rifa’i (24060122120014), Pujiani Rahayu Agustin (24060122130067), and Aryela Rachma Davina (24060122140174). This Student Mobility program was designed to provide cross-border learning experiences while broadening students’ perspectives on international education systems and academic cultures.

Throughout the program, the students attended regular classes alongside local and international students at UMS. The learning activities included theoretical lectures, case studies, group discussions, and the completion of various course assignments. Active participation in an international classroom environment offered a distinctive academic experience and encouraged students to approach global issues from broader, multicultural perspectives.

In addition to classroom activities, FSM UNDIP students also took part in an idea competition organized by UMS. This competition served as a platform for participants to develop and present innovative ideas addressing technology-based and social challenges. Through this activity, students enhanced their critical thinking skills, teamwork, and ability to deliver ideas professionally in an international setting.

The program also featured cultural sharing activities between Diponegoro University students and UMS students. These sessions involved exchanges of information on campus life, student activities, and daily routines, helping FSM UNDIP students gain a deeper understanding of the local social and cultural environment while strengthening relationships between students from both institutions.

During their stay at UMS, the participants also attended various thematic seminars organized by faculties and research centers. Seminar topics included the latest technological developments, digital innovation, personal development, and trends in international higher education. Participation in these seminars enriched students’ academic insights and expanded their professional networks with lecturers, researchers, and practitioners.

Overall, the Student Mobility Program at Universiti Malaysia Sabah was successfully conducted and received positive feedback from the participants. The students noted that the experience not only enhanced their academic understanding but also strengthened essential soft skills such as communication, collaboration, time management, and adaptability in a new environment. Living and studying abroad further reinforced their awareness of the importance of a global mindset in preparing for future career challenges.

As a faculty committed to strengthening quality and global competitiveness, FSM UNDIP continues to encourage international programs such as Student Mobility. Through initiatives like this, FSM UNDIP aims to produce graduates who excel academically, adapt to global changes, and possess strong international perspectives to contribute at both national and international levels.
