Strengthening Bonds: FSM Undip’s Halal Bihalal Serves as a Momentum for Kinship and Retirement Appreciation

The Faculty of Science and Mathematics (FSM) at Diponegoro University held a solemn Halal Bihalal Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah and a retirement send-off ceremony on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. Located at the 6th-floor Meeting Room of the Acintya Prasada Building, the event was attended by the leadership, faculty members, administrative staff, and invited guests in an atmosphere of close kinship.

The event commenced with a heartfelt session of reflections and farewell messages from Dr. Dra. Sumariyah, M.Si., as she entered her retirement. In her emotional speech, she expressed deep appreciation for the support and togetherness shared during her years of service at FSM Undip. She conveyed her hope for FSM to continue transforming into an inspiring and vibrant hub for future generations, while bidding farewell with a note of gratitude for the collaborations experienced throughout her tenure.

In his remarks, the Dean of FSM Undip, Prof. Dr. Kusworo Adi, S.Si., M.T., paid the highest tribute to the retirees. He emphasized that although official duties have concluded, the family bond with the faculty remains unbreakable. “We remain a family, wherever and whenever; FSM’s doors will always be open for ongoing fellowship,” Prof. Kusworo stated. Besides offering a mutual apology (Mohon Maaf Lahir dan Batin) on behalf of the institution, he also encouraged the entire academic community to maintain and even exceed the brilliant performance achievements reached in previous years as they move through 2026.

As a form of appreciation for their decades of dedication and service, the event proceeded with the presentation of tokens of appreciation and souvenirs to the retirees of FSM Undip, namely Dr. Dra. Sri Utami, M.S., Dr. Dra. Sumariyah, M.Si., Dra. Riche Hariyati, M.Si., Dra. Siti Muflichatun Mardiati, M.Kes., and Mr. Zuhroni (Administrative Staff). The presentation of these mementos serves as a symbol of the faculty’s gratitude and respect for the extraordinary contributions they have rendered toward the advancement of the institution.

The program continued with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an and its translation (sari tilawah), featuring Surah Ali ‘Imran verse 133. The recitation served as a reminder for all attendees to hasten toward the forgiveness of Allah SWT and to consistently strive for excellence and virtue in every aspect of life.

The solemnity of the event was further enriched by a religious lecture (tausiyah) delivered by Ustadz KH. Fahrurrozi, M.Ag. In his lecture, he emphasized the essence of Halal Bihalal as a crucial momentum to strengthen unity and bonds of brotherhood. He also expressed hope that through the fasting month of Ramadan, sins from the past year would be forgiven, allowing every individual to return to a state of purity and be more spirited in their campus activities and dedication.

Through this momentum, FSM Undip holds great expectations to continue synergizing in innovation and achievement. It is hoped that the spirit of Halal Bihalal will provide new energy for all faculty members to enhance the quality of academic services and research. This synergy aims to ensure FSM Undip remains a superior and contributive pillar at both national and international levels, fostering a generation of science and mathematics graduates with integrity in the years to come.
