The Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Diponegoro University (FSM UNDIP), welcomed a visit from SMA Pradita Dirgantara Surakarta on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at the 6th floor of the Acintya Prasada Building. The visit served as an introduction to the university environment and a valuable opportunity to share insights into academic life, particularly in the fields of science and mathematics.
The event began with a welcoming speech by Doni Wahyu Prabowo, M.Pd., Vice Principal for Academic Affairs of SMA Pradita Dirgantara. In his remarks, he explained that the visit was intended to provide first-hand exposure for students involved in the school’s science-focused track. He expressed his hopes that the visit would offer both meaningful insights and an enriching experience as the students begin planning their future educational paths. He also conveyed his appreciation for the warm reception from the FSM UNDIP academic community.
The agenda continued with a presentation and discussion led by Dr. Pandji Triadyaksa, S.Si., M.Sc., F.Med., Coordinator for Promotion and Communication at FSM UNDIP. In his session, he introduced FSM as one of UNDIP’s leading faculties, offering a range of academic programs in science and mathematics, including Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Statistics, Informatics, and Biotechnology. He also elaborated on the faculty’s academic facilities, student achievements, and vibrant research environment.
In addition to introducing FSM, Dr. Pandji shared practical advice with the students about choosing the right academic program. “If you’re interested in a particular study program, be sure to learn about the expertise of its lecturers—especially the professors and doctoral holders. Even if programs share the same name, their academic focus can vary greatly between universities,” he noted.
The visit concluded with an engaging Q&A session, where students eagerly asked questions about research opportunities, academic career pathways, and self-development prospects at FSM UNDIP.
FSM UNDIP highly values activities like this as a form of collaboration and a way to introduce higher education to students early on, while strengthening the relationship between secondary schools and universities.
