Mr. Muhammad Fitri Lutfi Anshari began his journey in the Statistics Undergraduate Program at the Faculty of Science and Mathematics (FSM), Diponegoro University in 2009 and graduated in 2013. From the start, he equipped himself with strong analytical skills and a statistical mindset, which became a vital foundation for his career in customs and excise supervision.
After completing his education, Mr. Lutfi immediately began working at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DGCE), Ministry of Finance, starting from various examiner positions in subsections and the central office, eventually being trusted to serve as a Functional Expert Examiner of Customs and Excise. Throughout his career, Mr. Lutfi has been actively involved in performance evaluations, internal compliance management, and oversight of task implementation at various DGCE offices.
In addition to his career achievements, Mr. Lutfi has actively contributed to team and individual accomplishments. Among the major awards received by his teams are the WBK (Corruption-Free Zone) title in 2020, First Place for Best Performance Evaluation Report (KPT) at both DGCE and Ministry of Finance levels in 2021, and the WBBM (Clean and Serving Bureaucracy Zone) award in 2023. These accolades reflect Lutfi and his team’s strong commitment to integrity and professionalism in their duties.
Individually, Mr. Lutfi also earned recognition as an Outstanding Employee with “Good” and “Excellent” ratings in 2020 and 2022, demonstrating his dedication and exceptional performance. Beyond professional success, he actively participates in non-academic activities, such as table tennis, where he won 3rd place in men’s singles and 1st place in the men’s team category at the 2024 DGCE Cup. He was also selected as the Ministry of Finance’s representative in the national-level Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran (MTQ) competition for the Adhan category under the Civil Servants Corps (KORPRI).
Mr. Lutfi stated that the knowledge and experience he gained during his time at FSM UNDIP served as the main foundation for his success. “The statistics I studied weren’t just about numbers, but about thinking analytically, logically, and systematically. This greatly helps me interpret data and make accurate decisions,” he said. Beyond academics, his organizational experiences helped shape crucial soft skills like communication, leadership, and time management, which are invaluable in a dynamic work environment.
To current FSM students, Mr. Lutfi offers this motivating message: “Believe that every experience—academic or organizational—will shape your character and capabilities. Don’t be afraid to try new things and keep learning. Consistency and humility are the keys to a successful career journey.”
