The Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Diponegoro University (FSM UNDIP), organized a Workshop on Writing Article Reviews with the theme “Strategies and Best Practices in Writing of Scientific Review Articles Integrating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for Reputable International Publication.” The event was held on Friday, August 15, 2025, at the Meeting Room, 4th Floor, Acintya Prasada Building, FSM UNDIP, and was officially opened by the Vice Dean for Resources of FSM UNDIP, Dr. Eng. Adi Wibowo, S.Si., M.Kom.

The workshop featured two main speakers: Prof. Sugiharto, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences UNDIP, and Dr. Anang Wahyu Sejati, S.T., M.T., Head of the Center for Research Promotion and Publication at LPPM UNDIP as well as lecturer of the Faculty of Engineering. Both shared their experiences and strategies in writing article reviews, from selecting relevant topics, techniques for searching and synthesizing literature, to structuring articles systematically and ensuring their significance for scientific advancement.

In his presentation, Prof. Sugiharto emphasized that an article review is not merely a summary, but a critical evaluation that can highlight the direction of research development and open new research opportunities. He outlined essential steps in writing a review article, such as identifying timely issues, drafting a clear structure, critically organizing previous research findings, and concluding with insights that provide an outlook for future research directions.

Dr. Anang Wahyu Sejati complemented the session by discussing publication strategies closely related to the role of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) UNDIP. He highlighted the importance of consistency in aligning research topics with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), while also making use of LPPM’s support in promoting research outputs, fostering collaborations, and selecting reputable international journals.

The workshop received enthusiastic participation from FSM UNDIP lecturers and researchers. Through this activity, it is expected that more article reviews will be produced within FSM UNDIP, further strengthening the faculty’s contribution to the development of science at both national and international levels.

FSM UNDIP consistently supports efforts to enhance the capacity of lecturers and researchers in scientific writing, as part of its commitment to realizing the university’s vision of becoming a world-class institution actively engaged in research, teaching, and community service.
