Another proud achievement was made by Universitas Diponegoro students on the international stage. A cross-faculty team from UNDIP successfully won a bronze medal at the Bangkok International Intellectual Property, Invention, Innovation and Technology Exposition 2025 (IPITEx), held on February 2–6, 2025, in Bangkok, Thailand.
This prestigious competition was organized by the World Invention Intellectual Property Associations (WIIPA) in collaboration with the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) and was attended by 690 teams from 22 countries. Over five days, participants showcased their innovative works through exhibitions while undergoing a rigorous judging process by international juries.
The UNDIP team consisted of a student from the Faculty of Medicine, two students from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering, and three students from the Faculty of Science and Mathematics (FSM), namely:
- Ihya Qothrunnada Rahmani (Student ID 24040121120033)
- Muhammad Reza Saputra (Student ID 24030123140137)
- Ahmad Ali Muckharom (Student ID 24040125410031)
In this competition, the team presented a research project entitled “Use of Waste Tire for Synthesis of LiFePO4/C Nanocomposite Using Hydrothermal Method as a High Density Supercapacitor Component.” This research demonstrated that the addition of carbon derived from waste tires in LiFePO4 cathodes can enhance the performance of supercapacitors while also recycling waste into high-value products. The innovation has the potential to support renewable energy development and reduce environmental impact.
Throughout the exhibition, the team confidently presented their work, responded well to critical questions from the international jury, and successfully demonstrated both strong research quality and excellent communication skills. The bronze medal achievement not only reflects individual success but also represents UNDIP’s tangible contribution to enhancing the university’s reputation on the global stage.
This success is expected to inspire FSM students and the entire Universitas Diponegoro academic community to continue producing innovative research that benefits society, the nation, and the world.
