The Central Java Statistics Agency (BPS) and the Statistics Department of Diponegoro University held the inauguration of the Statistics Corner as well as a Public Lecture with the theme “Literacy of Official Statistics for the Academic Community” on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. The public lecture was held at Acintya Prasada Building, Faculty of Science and Mathematics. The Public Lecture activity began with remarks from the Head of the Undip Statistics Department Dr. Tarno, M.Si. He said that Undip Statistics students did not understand deeply about official statistics so they needed exposure from experts. The public lecture was delivered by the Director of Statistical Dissemination, Mrs. Dwi Retno Wilujeng Wahyu Utami, S.Si., M.Si. and moderated by Dr. Moh. Abdul Mukid, S.Si., M.Si. The public lecture was attended by 200 Undip Statistics students, Undip Statistics lecturers, heads of Statistics study programs from several other universities in Central Java, and Heads of BPS from cities / regencies in Central Java.
The activity continued with the inauguration of the Statistics Corner located in Building G FSM. The ribbon cutting began with remarks from the head of the BPS production statistics deputy, M. Habibullah S.Si, M.Si., accompanied by the head of BPS Java and the dean of FSM Prof. Dr. Widowati, S.Si, M.Si. The hope of the deputy head, undip Statistics Corner can contribute to Undip Statistics students and students from other universities. (Yeye)
