Semarang – The Faculty of Science and Mathematics (FSM) of Diponegoro University organized the selection of the National Olympiad of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Higher Education (ONMIPA-PT) at the university level on February 16, 2025 at Acintya Prasada Building, 6th Floor. This event is the initial stage in a series of competitions organized by the National Achievement Center of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemdikbudristek).

The ONMIPA-PT 2025 selection at the university level was held offline and attended by 214 students from various faculties at UNDIP. They competed in four scientific fields, namely Mathematics (60 participants), Biology (75 participants), Physics (50 participants), and Chemistry (29 participants). From the results of this selection, the five best students in each field will be selected to represent UNDIP in regional and national level selection.

The event was officially opened by the Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Heru Susanto, S.T., M.M., M.T. He hopes that the participants can give their best and bring pride to UNDIP.With this event, it is hoped that FSM UNDIP can continue to produce outstanding students who are ready to compete at the national and international levels. Moreover, in his remarks, the PIC of ONMIPA 2025, Mr. Nurdin Bahtiar, S.Si., M.T., expressed his appreciation and gratitude to all parties who have contributed to the organization of this event, including the leadership of Diponegoro University, the Directorate of Academic and Student Affairs, FSM as the host, the judges, coaches, as well as the committee from UKM KOMIPA and the selection students. “Hopefully our joint efforts will get the best results and can bring the big name of Diponegoro University to the national arena,” said Mr Nurdin.

This selection aims to screen the best candidates who have the potential to achieve achievements at the national level. The participants will compete for 20 awards in each field, consisting of 3 gold medals, 5 silver medals, 7 bronze medals, and 5 honorable mentions.
