The S1 Biotechnology Study Program, Faculty of Science and Mathematics (FSM), Diponegoro University, underwent a field assessment for accreditation by the Lembaga Akreditasi Mandiri Sains Alam dan Ilmu Formal (LAMSAMA) on Monday and Tuesday, May 5–6, 2025. The event took place at the 6th Floor Auditorium of the Acintya Prasada Building at FSM UNDIP and was an important part of the ongoing efforts to maintain and enhance the quality of education within the program.

The assessment was attended by two assessors from LAMSAMA, namely Prof. Dr. Yosephine Sri Wulan Manuhara, M.Si. (Universitas Airlangga) and Erly Marwani, M.S., Ph.D. (Institut Teknologi Bandung). The event also involved the leadership team of the faculty, the chairperson and secretary of the quality assurance team, laboratory managers, as well as alumni representatives and external stakeholders.

The event began with an opening session featuring speeches from various key figures. FSM Dean, Prof. Dr. Kusworo Adi, S.Si., M.T., welcomed the assessors and expressed hope that the field assessment would serve as a significant moment to gather constructive feedback. Prof. Anis Chariri, S.E., M.Com., Ph.D., Akt., the Chairperson of LP2MP Undip, also expressed his appreciation for the presence of the assessors and reiterated that Undip always fully supports funding, curriculum development, and educational infrastructure. Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Yosephine Sri Wulan Manuhara, M.Si., the lead assessor, emphasized that the assessment was aimed at ensuring the alignment between written documents and the actual conditions on the ground, encouraging everyone to approach the process with an open and relaxed attitude as everything had been well prepared.

The first day of activities included sessions with the leadership of the Program Study Management Unit (UPPS) and the quality assurance unit, confirmation of the Program Study Performance Report (LKPS) data with the accreditation team, sessions with faculty members, sessions with Middle Management at UPPS and administrative staff (tendik), as well as sessions with alumni and external stakeholders both in-person and online. The first day ended with a site visit to various facilities, such as laboratories, faculty rooms, classrooms, and other supporting infrastructures.

On the second day, the assessment continued with a session involving students, providing the assessors with an opportunity to gather direct feedback from the students regarding their learning process and academic experience in the Biotechnology Study Program. The assessors then carried out independent work to draft the minutes and recommendations for the accreditation results. This draft was subsequently confirmed with the leadership of UPPS and the university before being officially signed as the conclusion of the field assessment process.

Through this assessment process, the S1 Biotechnology Study Program at FSM UNDIP demonstrates its commitment to maintaining quality and ensuring the alignment between academic plans and their actual implementation, as part of its ongoing efforts to achieve world-class and globally competitive higher education.
