The UPT Library of Diponegoro University together with Undip Press organized the Smart Campus Tour 2025 with the theme “Skills in AI Tools, E-Resources & Publication” on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at the Laboratory Room on the 4th Floor, Acintya Prasada Building, Faculty of Science and Mathematics (FSM) UNDIP. This event was attended by lecturers and students of FSM as part of the Smart Campus Tour series visiting various faculties within Diponegoro University, aiming to introduce premium AI applications subscribed by the campus, optimize the use of e-resources, and provide scientific publication training through Undip Press.
The event was opened with a speech from the Dean of FSM UNDIP, Mr. Kusworo Adi, S.Si., M.T., who emphasized the importance of utilizing technology, digital resources, and developing research and publications that have a positive impact on FSM. He also stated that advancements in digital technology present significant opportunities that must be optimally utilized by all members of the academic community. Furthermore, he encouraged lecturers and students to continuously enhance their competencies and creativity in facing the challenges of the digital era.
The session continued with remarks and a presentation by the Head of UPT Library and Undip Press, Mr. Suwondo, S.Hum., M.Kom., who explained the Online Library Services including access to AI tools for the academic community, urging participants to utilize these services to support repositories and publications. He also elaborated on the various benefits of these services, such as rapid and broad access to high-quality academic information resources. According to him, the utilization of these technologies and services will significantly support research productivity and publication activities within the university.
The main session was a training workshop led by Mr. Pujo Winarno, S.Kom., and Mr. Suwondo, S.Hum., M.Kom., who presented practical materials on the use of AI Tools to enhance academic and research quality, optimization of E-Resources to improve information access and quality, as well as training on scientific publication techniques and book publishing workshops. Participants actively practiced the features and services introduced, using their laptops to gain hands-on experience.
Following this, Ariesta Nuur Fattaah, S.Hum., from the UPT Library Undip conducted a book publishing workshop session with two schemes: grants provided by Diponegoro University and self-funded schemes. The grant program from Undip includes free national book or textbook writing, incentives, and assistance with publication costs through UPT Library Undip and Undip Press. Participants showed great enthusiasm for this session, especially due to benefits such as publishing cost assistance and incentives per book title.
Through this Smart Campus Tour event, FSM UNDIP is committed to continually advancing digital literacy and quality scientific publications within the faculty, aligning with its vision of becoming part of a World Class University.
