The Faculty of Science and Mathematics (FSM) at Diponegoro University held the 2025 Training of Trainer (ToT) and Character Education Facilitator (Pendikar) program, aimed at equipping lecturers and students to serve as facilitators in character education activities for incoming freshmen.
FSM Dean, Prof. Dr. Kusworo Adi, S.Si., M.T., emphasized the importance of this program as a preparation to shape the character of new students—young individuals who are spirited, patriotic, and devoted to the Republic of Indonesia.“ Happy training, keep smiling, stay cheerful, and stay happy,” said Prof. Kusworo enthusiastically.
The event was officially opened by the representative of the Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Edy Surahmad, S.Pd., M.Si., Director of Student and Alumni Affairs at UNDIP, who highlighted the importance of preparing new students to enjoy their educational journey, adapt quickly, and develop themselves academically, professionally, and entrepreneurially.
In the first session, three speakers from the Center for Student Counseling, Disability Services, Disciplinary Enforcement, and Ethics (LKDPDEM) delivered core competencies for the facilitators:
- Annastasia Ediati, S.Psi., M.Sc., Ph.D., Psychologist – presented the importance of emotional regulation as a key to self-management.
- Unika Prihatsanti, S.Psi., MA – explained the philosophy and methodology of UNDIP’s character education program, which this year adopts the theme “I’m a good citizen and happy person.”
- Laura Andri Retno Martini, S.S., MA – delivered a session on self-branding and student mental health as key components of a healthy and confident young generation.
In the second session, Ms. Laura returned to lead an activity titled “Build Your Great Team,” where participants were invited to assemble their group symbols into a complete image. This symbolic activity emphasized that differences within a team are strengths—multiple souls united under one vision.
The program also included technical and practical sessions simulating the implementation of Pendikar for new students. These involved creative group activities, meaningful experience documentation, and a structured three-day agenda focused on self-awareness, teamwork, and environmental engagement.
This ToT and Pendikar Facilitator program marks an essential starting point in ensuring that UNDIP’s new students are not only academically excellent but also strong in character, full of integrity, and ready to become valuable citizens and members of the UNDIP community—happy, capable, and committed to contributing to society.
