The Faculty of Science and Mathematics (FSM) of Diponegoro University held an online Campus Life Introduction for New Students (PKKMB) and Character Education (Pendikar) socialization event with parents/guardians of new students on Saturday, August 2, 2025, via Zoom. The event was divided into two sessions: the first session at 8:00 AM WIB for the Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Biotechnology study programs, and the second session at 9:30 AM WIB for the Mathematics, Statistics, and Informatics study programs. This socialization aimed to provide parents/guardians with an understanding of the PKKMB and Pendikar activities, which will take place on August 18–21, 2025, as well as to highlight the role of parents in supporting their children during their studies at FSM UNDIP.

In his remarks, Dean of FSM UNDIP, Prof. Dr. Kusworo Adi, S.Si., M.T., emphasized that parents play a crucial role in monitoring the academic activities of new students to help them successfully complete their studies. “You have made the right choice by choosing FSM because the study programs offered here not only teach theory but also provide practical experience. We kindly ask parents to monitor their children’s activities, including ensuring they have breakfast before engaging in daily activities. Please do not leave them entirely on their own, as new students certainly need attention to be able to complete their studies successfully. Congratulations on your children being accepted and joining FSM UNDIP,” said Prof. Kusworo.

The socialization session was presented by FSM UNDIP’s Coordinator for Promotion and Communication, Dr. Pandji Triadyaksa, S.Si., M.Sc., F.Med., who delivered technical information regarding the schedule, requirements, and materials to be provided during PKKMB and Pendikar. His presentation also included the introduction of the SIPADI Undip academic monitoring system, which enables parents to monitor their children’s grades, payment history, and student activity status in real time.

The socialization event was attended by the Dean and Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs of FSM, Department Chairs, the Supervisor of the Academic and Student Affairs Subdivision, administrative staff within FSM, as well as parents/guardians and new students of FSM. This activity is expected to foster synergy between the faculty and parents/guardians in jointly guiding FSM UNDIP’s new students so that they are well-prepared to undertake their studies and various campus activities.
