The Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Diponegoro University (FSM UNDIP), held a series of Character Education (Pendikar) programs for new students of the 2025/2026 academic year. The three-day program, held from 20–22 August 2025, featured FSM UNDIP lecturers as speakers who guided each session directly.

The first day began with the introduction of cultural values and campus ethics. New students were introduced to the importance of a growth mindset, proper etiquette, and ethics such as anti-drug and anti-corruption values. The atmosphere became livelier during the Branding Diri (Self-Branding) session, where students introduced themselves through memorable moments presented in photos. The first day was further enriched with sessions such as Berani dan Peduli (Brave and Caring), Kartu Peduli Diri (Self-Care Card), and Regulasi Emosi (Emotion Regulation), which trained students to understand the importance of mental health and emotional control. The day concluded with an Integrity session, delivered through simple yet meaningful activities.

The second day emphasized teamwork and leadership. In the Satu Gambar Banyak Jiwa (One Picture, Many Souls) session, students learned to work together by uniting differences into a shared creation. The program continued with Langkah Kecil, Dampak Besar (Small Steps, Big Impact), which encouraged students to think critically about surrounding issues and propose real solutions. The value of justice was instilled in the Bekal Sang Diponegoro (Diponegoro’s Provisions) session, teaching that fairness does not mean equal shares, but rather giving according to rights. In the afternoon, the Satu Tarikan Seribu Makna (One Stroke, A Thousand Meanings) session fostered leadership spirit, and the day was concluded with Tantangan Diponegoro (Diponegoro’s Challenge), a series of games combining physical activity, strategy, and discipline.

The final day carried a more reflective tone. Students explored the values of Pancasila through roleplay in the session Beretika dalam Kehidupan sebagai Pancasila (Ethics in Life as Pancasila). Afterwards, the Warna-warni Lingkunganku (The Colors of My Environment) activity became a symbol of sustainability commitment, where students planted trees in pots as a pledge to care for them until graduation. This spirit of togetherness closed the Pendikar program with a collective pledge by the new students to uphold Diponegoro’s values in both academic and social life.

Through this program, FSM UNDIP hopes that new students will not only be academically prepared, but also develop strong character, uphold ethical values, and commit to becoming Diponegoro’s young generation of integrity. Pendikar serves as an important first step for students to embark on their university journey with a spirit of learning, collaboration, and social responsibility.

FSM UNDIP consistently supports student character development programs as part of its effort to produce outstanding and competitive graduates, in line with the university’s vision of becoming a world-class institution actively contributing to sustainable development.
