Semarang, October 6, 2025 – The Faculty of Science and Mathematics (FSM) of Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) held a seminar and workshop titled “Building Skills for Cloud Workload Security on Alibaba Cloud” at the 6th floor of Acintya Prasada Building. The event featured two main speakers, Jawad Shah, Senior Training Advisor at Alibaba Cloud, and Muhammad Maliqi, Lead Solution Architect at Alibaba Cloud Indonesia.

The event began with opening remarks from Dr. Eng. Adi Wibowo, S.Si., M.Kom., Vice Dean for Resources of FSM UNDIP. In his speech, he expressed gratitude to the speakers for their willingness to share their knowledge with the participants, especially in enhancing skills in computing and cloud security. Dr. Adi also emphasized the importance of the connection between academia and industry, given the increasing demand for competencies relevant to technological advancements in the industry.

In his presentation, Jawad Shah discussed various security risks associated with using AI in the cloud, with a focus on protecting models and data used in cloud infrastructure. He also explained the challenges faced in maintaining security for cloud applications and infrastructure, providing insights on the importance of data security at every layer of the cloud system to prevent leakage, corruption, or manipulation of data.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Maliqi thoroughly explained how to build trustworthy AI through the Alibaba Cloud platform. He elaborated on the integration of security within AI workloads, as well as how to protect systems from potential threats across various layers of technology, from applications to infrastructure. His presentation highlighted the importance of building secure and reliable systems, especially as companies face complex challenges in managing and securing data in the cloud.

The event was attended by students from the Department of Informatics at FSM UNDIP. The interactive discussions and enthusiasm shown by participants during the Q&A session demonstrated the significance of this workshop in equipping participants with the necessary skills to address security challenges in the digital era. This seminar and workshop are expected to be a stepping stone in strengthening collaboration between academia and industry, as well as driving the enhancement of skills in cloud security and AI technology at FSM UNDIP.
