Semarang, October 10, 2025 — The Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Diponegoro University (FSM UNDIP) hosted a benchmarking visit from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Mulawarman University (FMIPA UNMUL) at the Acintya Prasada Building, 4th Floor. The meeting focused on sharing good governance practices and strengthening cooperation in education, research, and community service.
From the host side, the FSM UNDIP leadership team was present alongside the administrative manager, the Academic and Student Affairs Supervisor, the Resources Supervisor, the Head of the Faculty Quality Assurance Team (TPMF), the Coordinator for Research and Community Service, and the Head of the Department of Biology. The FMIPA UNMUL delegation comprised members of the leadership, the head of the administrative office, and staff.
FSM UNDIP Dean Prof. Dr. Kusworo Adi, S.Si., M.T. opened the event by outlining the structure of administrative staff, the composition of lecturers, and the number of professors at FSM UNDIP. He emphasized that inter-faculty partnerships not only enhance performance but also strengthen networks and shared learning. “Through collaboration, we not only complement one another but also foster closer ties and learn together to advance,” he said.
FMIPA UNMUL Dean Dr. Hj. Ratna Kusuma, M.Si. introduced the attending leaders and staff and presented the faculty’s academic profile—managing seven undergraduate programs and two master’s programs with approximately 1,600 students. She conveyed a commitment to gradually adopting relevant best practices from FSM UNDIP.
The benchmarking session continued with a presentation by FSM UNDIP’s Vice Dean for Resources on human-resource management, facilities and infrastructure, and systems that support academic performance. The forum then developed into a two-way discussion on Tri Dharma implementation, faculty governance, quality assurance mechanisms, and strengthening the research and community-service ecosystem. Both sides also discussed initiating cooperation covering exchanges of management practices, joint research and publications, and joint programs to build human-resource capacity. At this exploratory stage, they reviewed opportunities to enhance academic capacity and pursue further collaboration—including options for developing specific areas of interest—to be discussed further in line with needs and regulations.
The event concluded with the presentation of tokens of appreciation and a group photo. The meeting is expected to lay a foundation for sustained academic networking between FSM UNDIP and FMIPA UNMUL and to accelerate the achievement of Tri Dharma quality targets at both institutions.
