The Faculty of Science and Mathematics (FSM), Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP), welcomed a benchmarking visit from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA), on Friday, April 10, 2026, held at the 4th Floor of Acintya Prasada Building, FSM UNDIP. This activity aimed to exchange information and experiences related to student affairs management and the enhancement of student achievements.
From FSM UNDIP, the event was attended by the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, the Coordinator of Academic and Student Affairs, as well as a supervising lecturer from one of the student associations. Meanwhile, representatives from FMIPA UNESA included faculty leaders and student organization (ormawa) representatives, as listed in the official document, reflecting a strong enthusiasm for inter-institutional collaboration.

In her remarks, the Vice Dean I of FMIPA UNESA, Prof. Dr. Fida Rachmadiarti, M.Kes., expressed her appreciation for the warm welcome from FSM UNDIP. She also emphasized the importance of benchmarking activities as a means to explore best practices, particularly in student affairs management. Furthermore, she conveyed her hope that through this visit, FMIPA UNESA could gain insights into FSM UNDIP’s strategies in mentoring students, enhancing organizational engagement, and encouraging student achievements at both national and international levels.

Meanwhile, the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs of FSM UNDIP, Prof. Dr. Ngadiwiyana, S.Si., M.Si., expressed his pleasure and appreciation for the visit from FMIPA UNESA. He hoped that this activity would serve as the beginning of closer collaboration in the future. “We are very pleased to welcome our colleagues from FMIPA UNESA. Moving forward, we hope to work together in further developing student affairs and to maintain the strong relationship that has been established,” he stated.
The event continued with an interactive discussion session that took place in a warm and engaging atmosphere between both parties. Various general topics related to student affairs management were discussed, ranging from strengthening the role of student organizations to enhancing student participation in both academic and non-academic activities. This discussion served as a platform to share experiences and best practices in fostering an active, productive, and competitive student environment.

In addition, both institutions exchanged perspectives on strategies for nurturing and developing student potential from the early stages of their academic journey. Various approaches to encouraging students’ interests, talents, and achievements were also part of the discussion. Overall, this session was expected to broaden insights and strengthen joint efforts in improving the quality of student affairs in each institution.
Through this benchmarking activity, both institutions are expected to share best practices and strengthen synergy in creating a productive, innovative, and high-achieving student environment. Furthermore, this activity is also expected to strengthen institutional relations and open opportunities for sustainable collaboration in the future.
