Armed with Mathematics and Organizational Experience, Nadia Cipta Anggraini Builds a Career in BNI’s ODP

Nadia Cipta Anggraini, a graduate of the Bachelor’s Program in Mathematics at the Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Universitas Diponegoro (FSM UNDIP), class of 2020, completed her studies in 2024 and is now pursuing a career as a participant in the Officer Development Program (ODP) at BNI in Jakarta. This achievement demonstrates that academic competence, organizational experience, and a strong willingness to continuously develop oneself can open broad career opportunities for FSM UNDIP graduates.

Since the beginning of her studies, Nadia had set a clear goal to start her career through the ODP, a leadership development pathway in the banking industry known for its highly competitive and challenging selection process. To prepare herself, she actively developed her skills beyond the classroom by participating in various organizations, including the Student Senate of the Faculty of Science and Mathematics and the Indonesia Marketing Association, a student activity unit at the Universitas Diponegoro level. Through these experiences, Nadia learned a great deal about leadership, communication, teamwork, and resilience in facing various challenges.

In addition to her organizational experience, her educational background in Mathematics at FSM UNDIP also played a significant role in shaping her career journey. “For me, mathematics is not only about numbers and formulas, but also about developing logical, analytical, and structured ways of thinking,” Nadia said. She also added that mathematical skills are among the essential assets needed in the workplace, especially in the era of technological development, such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, which are widely used in decision-making processes across various industries.

During her university years, Nadia was also actively involved in various self-development activities. She participated in the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka internship program at Bank Syariah Indonesia, took part in a community service program involving the application of fuzzy methods for MSMEs, and served as a senator as well as an administrator in a university-level organization. These experiences became important assets that helped her gain confidence in competing with graduates from various prominent universities during the ODP BNI selection process.

For Nadia, the knowledge and experiences she gained while studying at FSM UNDIP became a strong foundation for building her career, both academically and in terms of soft skills development. According to her, university life provides many opportunities to learn, explore new things, build networks, and recognize one’s potential.

To FSM UNDIP students, Nadia advised them to make the most of their university years. She believes that every experience gained as a student, whether in the classroom, organizations, internships, or social activities, can become valuable capital for entering an increasingly competitive professional world.
