FSM UNDIP Welcomes 11 Students from Universiti Malaysia Sabah through International Student Mobility Program

The Faculty of Science and Mathematics (FSM), Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP), welcomed 11 students from the Faculty of Computing and Informatics (FCI), Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), Malaysia, as part of the International Student Mobility Program Faculty of Science and Mathematics Universitas Diponegoro 2026. The welcoming ceremony was held on Monday, September 7, 2026, at the 4th Floor of the Acintya Prasada Building, FSM UNDIP.

The arrival of FCI UMS students is part of an international mobility program that provides students with opportunities to gain academic experience while becoming familiar with the university environment and life in Semarang. Throughout the program, the students will participate in academic activities at FSM UNDIP for approximately three months.

The welcoming ceremony featured remarks from Head of the Department of Informatics FSM UNDIP, Dr. Aris Sugiharto, S.Si., M.Kom. He encouraged the participating students to communicate with the Department of Informatics should they require any assistance during their time at FSM UNDIP. “If you need anything, please feel free to contact us, either the Head or Secretary of the Study Program. You are also welcome to visit our office. In addition, please socialize with our students,” said Dr. Aris.

Following this, Dean of FSM UNDIP, Prof. Dr. Kusworo Adi, S.Si., M.T., delivered his remarks and officially welcomed the FCI UMS students to participate in academic activities at FSM UNDIP. He expressed his appreciation for their presence and encouraged them to make the most of the facilities provided throughout the program. “Please enjoy the facilities provided, study here for three months, enjoy your time in Semarang, and take your studies seriously during your stay in Semarang,” said Prof. Kusworo Adi.

The next remarks were delivered by Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Leau Yu Beng from FCI UMS, who expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome extended by FSM UNDIP to the participating students. He also shared that the students had responded positively to the UNDIP campus, which they found to be good and spacious, and that they were enjoying their learning experience at UNDIP. “As a faculty, we also hope that the students will have a good experience and represent the university well during their study at UNDIP,” said Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Leau Yu Beng.

The reception of FCI UMS students is part of FSM UNDIP’s efforts to strengthen international academic networks while providing students with opportunities to gain learning experiences in a more diverse higher education environment. Through the student mobility program, students also have opportunities to interact, exchange experiences, and build networks with students and academic communities from other institutions.

During their stay in Semarang, the 11 FCI UMS students will participate in a series of academic activities and programs prepared by FSM UNDIP. Their presence is expected to provide a meaningful academic and cultural experience while further strengthening the relationship between FSM UNDIP and FCI UMS in advancing international academic cooperation.
