The Department of Informatics, Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Universitas Diponegoro, organized the Summer Course 2026 entitled “Code the Future: AI, Blockchain & Cybersecurity” from 18 to 23 May 2026. This program represents one of the department’s strategic initiatives to broaden students’ perspectives on emerging technologies, particularly in the fields of artificial intelligence, blockchain, and cybersecurity.
The program was conducted in a hybrid format, combining onsite activities at the Department of Informatics, Universitas Diponegoro, with online participation through Zoom. The event was coordinated by Henri Tantyoko, S.Kom., M.Kom. as the Summer Course Person in Charge (PIC). Through this flexible format, participants were able to engage in the activities either directly on campus or remotely from various locations. Throughout the program, participants not only attended lectures delivered by expert speakers but also took part in project-based activities and final presentations.
The Summer Course commenced on Monday, 18 May 2026, with an opening session delivered by Dr.Eng. Adi Wibowo, Vice Dean II for Human Resources, Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Universitas Diponegoro. Following the opening ceremony, participants attended a session entitled “Building Trust with Stellar: Blockchain for Secure Applications”presented by Indra Mahesa, S.Kom., Blockchain Specialist from RiseIn Indonesia. This session introduced participants to the role of blockchain technology in developing secure, transparent, and trustworthy digital applications.
On the second day, Tuesday, 19 May 2026, the program continued with discussions on current cybersecurity developments in industry. The session “Cybersecurity Trends in Industry: From Threats to Defense Strategies” was delivered by Ian Agung Prakoso, Cybersecurity Specialist from PT LEN Industry. Through this session, participants gained insights into contemporary digital threats and defense strategies that are increasingly relevant to industry needs.

On the same day, participants also attended “AI-Driven DevSecOps Lifecycle: Building Secure-by-Design Software from the Start”, presented by Heru Permana, AI Specialist from PT LEN Industry. This session emphasized the importance of integrating artificial intelligence and security considerations from the earliest stages of software development to ensure that systems are designed to be both functional and secure by default.
The third day, Wednesday, 20 May 2026, provided participants with international academic perspectives through the session “Ethical AI in Cybersecurity: Social Media Context” delivered by Dr. Suaini binti Sura, Lecturer from Universiti Malaysia Sabah. The program continued with a presentation by Prof. Donna Acula from the University of Santo Tomas entitled “AI-Powered Intelligent Systems: Bridging Research and Applications”, highlighting the connection between artificial intelligence research and its practical implementation across various domains.
This Summer Course was designed to serve as an international learning platform that brings together students, academics, and industry practitioners. In addition to receiving certificates of participation, attendees gained valuable experience through project-based learning, interactive discussions, and opportunities to expand their academic and professional networks.
Through this program, participants are expected to develop a more comprehensive understanding of emerging technologies and become encouraged to contribute to the development of secure, innovative, and impactful digital solutions for society. Summer Course 2026 is not only an academic initiative but also reflects the Department of Informatics, Universitas Diponegoro’s commitment to preparing the next generation to face the challenges and opportunities of future technological advancement.
